Hutchison taps local GOP leader

Kim Garza, executive director of the Dallas County Republican Party, has joined Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison’s gubernatorial campaign.

Garza, considered one of the rising stars of the local GOP, is now one of Hutchison’s regional political directors.

Dallas County Republican Party Chairman Jonathan Neerman, who relied heavily on Garza, is probably crying in his beer.

Garza was one of nine staffers introduced Wednesday by the Hutchison campaign, including veteran political strategist Keats Norfleet, now a Hutchison senior adviser.

Before working for the local GOP, Garza managed the successful campaign of Rep. Michael Burgess.

She’s also finding the time to get married, reportedly over the UT/OU weekend.
