Giuliani returns to Texas for Perry fundraisers

rudy-rickAssociated Press

Gov. Rick Perry is again enlisting the help of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for his re-election campaign.

Perry and Giuliani on Tuesday are scheduled to appear in San Antonio and Austin to discuss gangs and border security efforts. But they will also make fundraising stops for Perry in the two cities, with other fundraisers planned in Houston and Dallas.

The pair are political allies despite Giuliani’s liberal stances on some issues that clash with the Republican base. Perry endorsed Guliani during his run for the presidency last year, and Guliani backed Perry’s last re-election bid.

Perry is up against U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison for the Republican gubernatorial nomination.
